Entrepreneur to Admire

Meet Heidi Zak, founder of ThirdLove. If you’re a woman between the ages of 22 and 60, chances are you’ve heard of the brand. It first caught my attention about four years ago when I saw a commercial for bras that offered “half-sizes.” I had never heard of that before, and I was immediately intrigued.

Let’s be honest—wearing a bra is the bane of many women’s modern lives. So the idea of an intimate-wear company focused on comfort and better fit felt like a game changer. I decided to give them a try, and I’m so glad I did.

Heidi Zak didn’t just create another lingerie brand—she built ThirdLove to solve a real problem that millions of women experience. After working at companies like Google and Aéropostale, she noticed how outdated and limited the bra industry was. Instead of accepting it, she took a risk and launched ThirdLove in 2013 with a focus on better fit, comfort, and inclusivity.

One of the company’s biggest innovations was introducing half-cup sizes, using real customer data to design products that actually meet women’s needs. Zak also challenged traditional beauty standards by representing real women of all shapes and sizes, setting her brand apart in a highly competitive market.

Her story is a reminder that great businesses often come from everyday frustrations. By identifying a common problem and committing to solving it, Heidi Zak turned a simple idea into a successful and meaningful brand.

Built Different

There’s something different about women who build something from nothing.

It’s not just about success—it’s about resilience, pressure, and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you thought.

I relate to that. I’ve had moments where the outcome wasn’t optional—I had to figure it out. And that’s what I see in female entrepreneurs like Heidi Zak.

They don’t wait until they feel ready. They move anyway. And that’s the kind of mindset I respect.
